Currently Unable To Walk, But Still Able

Due to my knees both having severe rheumatoid arthritis, a build-up of sonovial fluid which has cause Baker’s Cysts in both knees, and Meniscus tears, I’m not able to walk  except for  three to five steps at a time. That is slowly, and not bending either knee if I can help it.

I was at my Primary Doc this morning and he checked both legs, knees and feet and has referred me to an orthopedic surgeon. My R.A. and bone specialist Doc was letting this go until my next appointment with him on October 22, 2010 !

My goodness! Why wait so long? It’s better to have the consultation as soon as possible , therefore, a referral is the correct thing to do, for roght now! I commend my primary Doc for seeing to this for me, and understanding  that time is crucial to my everyday functioning!

I am able to still do lots of things! Some I just have to figure out how to do differently. Some cannot be done at all. That’s where a little kind help comes in. I had to tell myself “it’s okay to ask for help.” 🙂

I’m one that has always survived and done things for myself, loving to help others.

Knee surgery on not one, but both knees is something I don’t look forward to.  However, I do look forward to walking normally again. !

I’m thankful for my little scooter, affectionately named “Scoot” 🙂 Scoot is my feet for now. He takes me anywhere I need to go, even around here in my apartment, from the desk to the kitchen, to the bathroom, down the hallway to the elevators, etc.

I am a survivor of lots of health issues and feel blessed for everyday that God gives me. 🙂

  1. Thank goodness you have scoot!! I’m so sorry that you are struggling with this and the fact that you can’t get in to see the doc until October is crazy. 😦

You have a great attitude about it all and I know that helps. Hang in there. I’ll be praying for you *hugs*

  2. Thankyou for prayers and *hugs* Wizzy ~ *hugs* you back.
Yes, that’s the appointment for the specialist Doc for my bones and R.A. October 22. So I’m very happy that my Primary Doc took over and got me referred the same day! 🙂

  3. Wizzy ~ answering your question~ well, my Spirit is still with me …it’s up…. but depression , however small is setting in. I have not been depressed since I was in my late 20’s for 2 years it went on….that was a long long time ago ~
