Hah! I beat the WordPress weekly reminder 🙂
So, today is Monday and it’s Martin Luther King Day.
I had an appointment across town near St Anthony’s this morning, and decided to call a taxi early !
Reason being….all kinds of streets and their intersections are blocked off ! I was not able to ride my Scoot over there, because of getting stuck on the way back by all the blockades.
All turned out well, anyway. It’s just the cost of the taxi , round trip.
I have had lunch, checked my two email accounts, straightened up around my place, stood watch at the front desk for the desk clerk while she took a bathroom break, and called a friend who is out of the area.
Now I’m waiting on a return call from a friend , Charlie, who will go up with me to Gateway Shopping Center. I need several items from there, and also need to look around. Office Depot is my most very favorite shopping retail store.
A lovely amarillis flower was just waiting to have it’s picture taken. I took this in the garden , where I lived a few months ago.
The earthquake was a medium quake, at a 5.1 magnitude. It was close to Havana , Cuba, and was felt by people there and elsewhere. Here in Florida, shaking was felt in Ft Myers, and Miami.
I’m in the St Petersburg FL area, and did’nt feel anything….except my stomach shaking from being sick all day !
My sister, Janet and I are not really close, but we are ‘close.’ In heart. We have decided to call each other more this year. In fact, it was my sis who suggested it ! 🙂 That makes me happy! 🙂 Here here ! Cheers !
I wonder who was sitting here ?

Here it is , only two days left in 2012 in my corner of the world.
I have had a tumoultous and frightening 2012 , but the best of 2012 where I’m concerned has out-weighed the bad.
My Best of 2012 : The week of July 11th when my son Joseph, daughter-in-law Mollie, and two of my grand children , Michael 12, and Cassy, 17 came to visit me on Treasure Island , Florida.
We all had a wonderful time and my long time friend Bob, was there too. Birthday dinner, party after and just hanging out together was something of a miracle !
Where do I begin ? I guess I’ll just start typing. There has been so much going on in my real life that’s been both good and bad. In fact more bad than good. But: the “good stuff” is what I look at and that keeps me going on.
I had not even recorded anything in http://www.singsnap.com since May 14th, so I finally did, just this evening. Tomorrow I’ll go visit a few friends when I’m able to do that. I sang : “Waiting For The Times To Get Better.”
It really helps me to sing.
I did get a list of to-do things all finished except for the laundry. After sweeping and mopping floors and vacumning the living room and bedrooms, it was all I could do to just get the 3 loads sorted out !
That’s all for now, be safe be well !
Today began slowly…very slowly. I was still in my PJ’s at 10:00a.m. as I was talking with my Mom up in Michigan. We chatted about an hour and after putting down the phone, picked it right up again and called my friend Bob, to see if he needed any help from me today.
He did. So I showered and got dressed, made my bed and unplugged Scoot , ready to get going. We went down to Bob’s apartment and got the money from him for the items he needed at CVS and Publix.
Then after dropping off the purchases at his apartment, came home and ate a light lunch. Scoot and I were off again, this time on the bus to northeast shopping area. I had Actonel to pick up…yikes, that was an $85.00 ‘co-pay.’
I drove around the shopping center for a few minutes before my bus number 38 was due to arrive behind the shopping center. The driver recognized me and was great to see “Ruth” again. Then as we were going along the familiar route back to downtown, we stopped at the buildin where I was supposed to have moved to last Fall.
One of my many friends from there , Janet, was surp[rised to see me on the bus, too. 🙂 We chatted the rest of the way downtown, until we came to our stop. I’m going to be putting in a new application for that apartment building this week sometime. Then I will be added to the waiting list.
